MICHELLE SWIFT
COPYWRITER · BRAND STORYTELLER · CONTENT STRATEGIST

Good writing should sound like someone. It should also do something.

I’m Michelle Swift, a Toronto-based copywriter and content strategist.

I write for fashion, travel, food and lifestyle brands across email, ecommerce, websites, social media and editorial.

Some days, that means finding the three words that make someone open an email. Other days, it’s building a campaign, shaping a brand voice or turning a complicated idea into something people actually want to read.

Whatever the format, I believe the best copy feels true to the brand, respects the reader and gives them a reason to keep going.

Email That Earns the Open—and the Click

I create at least one Klaviyo campaign each day for Helene Clarkson Design. That includes developing the concept, writing the subject line and campaign, choosing and organizing the content, building the email, segmenting the audience, scheduling the send and reviewing the results.

The goal isn’t simply to send more email. Every campaign needs a clear reason to land in someone’s inbox.

Ecommerce Copy With the Customer in Mind

A product description has to do more than list features. It needs to help the customer understand the product and see how it will fit into her life.

For Helene Clarkson Design, I write and manage copy throughout the customer journey—from homepage messaging and collection introductions to product names, descriptions, fit information, styling ideas, SEO metadata and campaign landing pages.

TRAVEL · SOCIAL · BRAND VOICE

The Divine Destination Collection

One brand. Two distinct voices.

The Divine Destination Collection creates thoughtful, highly curated travel experiences. Its founders, Deb and Allison, share the same vision, but they don’t sound the same. My job is to make sure readers can tell who is speaking before they reach the name at the bottom.

Deb’s voice is warm, intuitive and grounded in human connection. Allison’s is observant, reflective and shaped by a deep curiosity about place and culture. The difference is subtle, but it matters.

I write for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and the Divine blog, producing at least 20 social posts each month along with long-form editorial content. I also create the social editorial calendar and develop stories around destinations, upcoming journeys, traveller experiences and the founders themselves.

In Deb’s Voice

Warm, personal and centred on the people who make a journey memorable.

In Allison’s Voice

Thoughtful, observant and attentive to the small details that reveal a destination.
